The 1cm

The internet, scraped for cheaper weed.

One Cannabis Market, or 1cm, was a place to find cheaper weed. We scraped every store we could find, lined up the same products side by side, and showed you where they cost less.

The idea

Cannabis is a saturated market. Hundreds of stores sell the same products at wildly different prices, and none of them want you to know that. Every store has its own site, its own menu, its own way of naming things. If you wanted the best price you had to open twenty tabs and do the math yourself.

So we built the thing that did the math. Crawlers pulled menus and prices from across the internet, matched products that were really the same thing under different names, and put it all in one place. Search for what you wanted and see who had it cheapest. Simple for the user, and a real amount of ugly work underneath to keep the data clean.

What happened to it

In June 2022 One Cannabis Market was acquired by Leviathan Natural Products, a publicly listed company. I joined them as Head of Technology as part of the deal.
